A long-established, reputable company in Designing and Knitwear are looking for an experienced Knitwear Quality Control Manager to join their expanding team.

The successful applicant will be part of a team to ensure that all products from the company are in line with the required quality standards across retail fabrics, contract fabrics and ready mades.

Full and part-time hours offered.

The role of Knitwear Quality Control Manager:

  • Liaising and taking instructions from the design team and the other half organising samples to be made with technicians.
  • Organising Knitwear Samples to be made with technicians.
  • Day-to-day tasks involve washing, measuring and sending samples to customers, along with workbooks (specs)
  • Managing Quality control throughout the factory on production, all the way from knitting to dispatch.
  • Liaison with all departments and assisting where needed.
  • To identify ways of continued quality improvement through regular product risk assessments and process reviews.
  • Responsible for ensuring the quality system is maintained and the fabric library is maintained.
  • Identifying, preventing and solving quality issues.
  • Ensuring that the company recoup the maximum costs for stock found to be non-conforming.
  • Ensuring technical advances are implemented.
  • Understanding of customer requirements such as online analysis & internal quality systems.
  • Improve the quality of service by evaluating systems and devising new processes as appropriate.
  • Monitor and record relevant quality data.
  • Performing staff appraisals, monthly 1 to 1s and leading team development.
  • Identifying areas for staff development and training.
  • Be involved in the recruitment and selection of new team members.

What Tagged Resources is looking for:

  • Knitwear experience 
  • A minimum of 2 years’ managerial experience.
  • Thorough understanding of technical and ethical audit requirements.
  • Interior textiles testing requirements for UK markets.
  • Demonstrable understanding of technical fabric construction and product development methods for fabrics and readymades.
  • Occasional domestic travel to visit suppliers/customers will be a part of the role.
