About: Design Locker is a modern fashion production studio specialising in the development and manufacturing of bold, trend led collections for leading UK retailers. Founded by an Asian female entrepreneur, the business was built with a hands-on approach to fashion production, combining creativity, strong supplier relationships, and industry expertise to bring standout collections to life.

Working across sourcing, development, sampling, and bulk production, we support brands through every stage of the production journey. From statement occasion wear to elevated everyday pieces, our focus is on creating fashion that feels confident, current, and commercially relevant.


Designer Locker is looking for an organised, proactive Studio Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of the Leicester studio.

This is a varied role offering exposure to garment development, production, sourcing, administration, and studio management.  This role does not include design or major creative tasks.

Key Responsibilities of the Studio Assistant

  • Organise and manage fabric, trim, and sample archives.
  • Assist with fabric and trim sourcing, ordering, and supplier communication.
  • Maintain accurate production documentation, spreadsheets, and records.
  • Assist with website updates, content creation, and social media activity.
  • Coordinate meetings, deliveries, and general studio administration.
  • Support recruitment activities, interviews, and onboarding when required.
  • Assist with showroom preparation, events, and sample sales.
  • Ensure the studio remains organised, efficient, and presentable at all times.
  • Managing internal order documentation, including fabric and trim categorisation, data organisation, and accuracy checks
  • Liaising with team members across departments to support smooth day-to-day operations
  • Maintaining attention to detail across both creative and administrative tasks
  • Balancing multiple responsibilities while meeting deadlines in a fast-moving fashion supply chain
  • Great attitude and someone who is just ready to get stuck in.

What Design Locker is looking for:

  • Understanding of fashion production processes and product development
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Admin/organisation experience.
  • Clear understanding of different fabric types
  • Visual communication and content creation skills
  • Ability to work independently and adapt quickly to changing priorities
  • Awareness of the fashion retail and manufacturing industry
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Confident use of digital design tools, e.g. Canva and Illustrator
