Carly TA Studios is looking for a talented freelance Contemporary Women's Wear Designer with a refined aesthetic, a strong eye for proportion and detail, and who understands how to create garments that feel feminine, modern and effortlessly sophisticated, to collaborate on the launch of a new independent contemporary luxury women's wear brand.

The brand celebrates effortless femininity through clean, refined silhouettes with a sensual yet understated aesthetic, focusing on beautifully crafted pieces in sheer fabrics, silk, silk-cotton blends and other lightweight luxury materials, designed to feel timeless, elegant and modern.

This is an opportunity to become part of a brand from its earliest stages, help build its creative identity, shape it from the ground up, and work collaboratively in a small, ambitious team. 

Location: London / Hybrid or Remote considered.

Responsibilities of the Designer:

• Develop new styles and seasonal collections.
• Translate creative direction into sketches and technical flats.
• Research fabrics, trims and construction details.
• Create presentation boards and product concepts.
• Prepare or support the development of tech packs.
• Work closely with the pattern maker throughout fittings and product development.
• Help ensure consistency across the collection and maintain a strong brand identity.

What Carly TA Studios is looking for…

Required:

• Experience designing contemporary womenswear.
• Strong understanding of luxury garment construction.
• Experience working with delicate fabrics such as silk, chiffon, georgette, mesh or other sheer materials.
• Excellent Adobe Illustrator skills.
• Experience preparing technical drawings and product specifications.
• Ability to balance creativity with commercial awareness.
• Experience with contemporary or luxury brands is a plus.

Beneficial:

• Experience in resortwear or occasionwear.
• Pattern cutting knowledge.
• Experience working with manufacturers and sampling.
