About: Dinny Hall, a luminary in British jewellery design, launched her eponymous brand in 1985, shortly after graduating from Central Saint Martins, marking the inception of a brand that seamlessly blends elegance with innovation. Dinny Hall’s jewellery is defined by a balance of classic craftsmanship and contemporary refinement. Each collection reflects a deep appreciation for form and proportion, with designs ranging from delicate, organic shapes to bold, sculptural silhouettes. Whether drawing on nature, historical motifs, or modernist principles, Dinny’s work remains instantly recognisable with its design integrity providing longevity, effortless wearability and understated luxury. ‘Jewellery is made to be worn, not hidden away in a box for a day that may never come’.

Dinny Hall is looking for a commercially focused, highly numerate Head of Merchandising / Merchandising Manager to own stock, margin, trading and reporting across our five London boutiques, Liberty concession and ecommerce channel.

Based in Farringdon, London, this is a pivotal, true all-rounder role at the heart of a small, fast-moving business, spanning day-to-day store merchandising through to central trade reporting, buying support, and pricing strategy.  It will suit someone who thrives on variety and wants their work to directly shape the brand's growth and market presence, rather than someone looking for a more specialist focus.

The Head of Merchandising / Merchandising Manager will lead the merchandise function with a structured analytical approach, ensuring on-time delivery of product to meet trading requirements, balancing inventory, range assortment and margin objectives to achieve sustained growth.

Responsibilities of the Head of Merchandising / Merchandising Manager

Buying & Product Launch Support:

  • Lead the end-to-end planning strategy for flow, continuity and seasonal collection launches
  • Present performance insights and strategic recommendations to drive data-informed decisions on range architecture, pricing and assortment.
  • Raise purchase orders for new collections
  • Inform the wider team of new delivery launches, ensuring stores and ecommerce are ready to trade
  • Create SKUs for new collections in Bright Pearl, ensuring clean, accurate product data

Margin:

  • Manage cost negotiations with suppliers within agreed commercial parameters.
  • Own the price review process, ensuring pricing is commercially sound and competitively positioned
  • Implement price changes accurately in Bright Pearl and across wholesale/retail partner systems
  • Set pricing for new collections in partnership with the Creative and Finance teams
  • Query and reconcile cost prices with suppliers, ensuring margin integrity

Trade Reporting & Analysis:

  • Produce weekly, monthly and quarterly trade reports with channel-level commentary across boutiques, concession and ecommerce
  • Analyse promotional and sale performance, drawing out clear, actionable insight for the MD and wider team
  • Provide weekly trade information, promotion tracking and trading updates to keep the business aligned
  • Set and monitor store targets, flagging risks and opportunities as trade develops

Sale & Promotional Planning:

  • Lead summer and winter sale analysis, including product selection and stock allocation
  • Compile the sample sale list
  • Manage sample sales and other stock-driven trading events from planning through to execution

Stock & Inventory:

  • Oversee stock across all boutiques, Liberty concession and ecommerce, ensuring accurate, well-balanced availability by style, size and location
  • Seasonal review and adjust store allocation levels
  • Oversee and organise, and run seasonal stock takes, reconciling counts against Bright Pearl and resolving discrepancies
  • Review product lifecycle regularly, identifying slow movers, best sellers and end-of-life candidates to inform markdown, replenishment and lifecycle decisions

What Dinny Hall is looking for:

  • A minimum of 5 years' merchandising, buying or trading experience gained within jewellery, fashion or luxury retail
  • Track record of working across both store-level merchandising and central trade reporting
  • Detail-obsessed, anticipating challenges, and genuinely passionate about shaping our merchandising strategy.
  • Comfortable operating in a small-to-mid-sized business, without the support of a large specialist team
  • Highly numerate and analytical, with genuine enjoyment of trading and interrogating the numbers
  • Strong negotiation skills, confident managing cost price discussions with suppliers
  • Highly organised and systematic, able to manage multiple concurrent workstreams and deadlines
  • A generalist mindset, happy to move between hands-on store merchandising and higher-level central reporting
  • Clear, confident communicator, comfortable presenting trade analysis to the MD and wider team
  • Self-starting and reliable, able to take ownership of reporting cover and critical trading moments (sales, launches, stock takes) with minimal oversight
  • Hands-on experience with Bright Pearl (or a comparable ERP/stock management system) is a plus.

Why Join Dinny Hall

This role offers genuine variety and ownership within a well-loved, established British jewellery brand. You'll work closely with the MD, Product Team and Creative Director, with visibility across the full commercial cycle from buying and pricing new collections through to trading them in store and online, in a business where your impact on the numbers is immediate and visible.

We're a fun, energetic and creative team , small enough that everyone's contribution truly counts, but ambitious about where we're taking the brand. You'll be working with gorgeous product, at a moment where the business is going through exciting transformation and modernisation, so there's real scope to help shape what comes next rather than just maintain what's already there
