People Marketing's client seeks anexperienced Pattern Maker to work closely with their Lead Designer throughout their full product development lifecycle in Gold Coast, Australia. The successful candidate will translate creative concepts into commercially viable, production-ready garments, taking designs from initial patterns and fittings through to final production specifications, while maintaining the highest standards of fit and quality.
Core Responsibilities of the Senior Pattern Maker & Bridal Technician:
Create accurate first patterns and production-ready patterns within agreed timelines.
Recommend design and construction modifications to enhance product performance and manufacturability.
Provide expert advice on construction methods, fabric suitability and overall production feasibility.
Lead garment fittings, implement technical corrections and troubleshoot issues to minimise delays and production risk.
Drive continuous improvement across garment construction processes and development efficiency.
Collaborate closely with Design, Production and Quality Control teams throughout the development process.
What People Marketing is looking for…
Essential:
Experience in pattern making and garment construction within bridal, couture, eveningwear or luxury fashion.
Advanced manual pattern-making skills; digital pattern-making experience would be highly regarded.
Extensive experience in bridal gown construction, including structured bodices, corsetry and internal garment engineering.
A strong understanding of fit, grading and size consistency.
Proven ability to interpret creative concepts and transform them into commercially viable, production-ready garments.
Exceptional attention to detail, organisation and problem-solving skills, alongside strong stakeholder communication abilities.
Beneficial:
Experience working with offshore manufacturers and production partners.
Experience developing technical packs and production specifications.
Experience in plus-size and petite fit development.
