Ellie Misner is excited to offer the opportunity for a freelance Seamstress / Tailor to join the team in London on a part-time basis.

This flexible, on-site role in Vauxhall, London, involves 1-2 days a week with the possibility of increasing days around annual collections and project deadlines.

Responsibilities of the Seamstress / Tailor:

• Strong dressmaking skills, including comprehension of pattern cutting and construction of garments
• Effective communication; professional and discreet
• Operate industrial sewing machines and other equipment to assemble garments.
• Understanding and reading of garment patterns to ensure they match the Designer’s specifications. To be able to work with all fabrics and to understand their properties. Such as silk satin, taffeta, duchesse, chiffon, and velvets.
• Operate industrial sewing machines and other equipment to assemble garments.
• Sew and join fabric pieces with precision, paying attention to seam allowances, stitching techniques, and finishing details.
• Pay close attention to fine details, such as hand stitching, to achieve a high level of craftsmanship.
• Conduct quality checks at various stages of garment construction to ensure the final product meets the Designer's standards.
• Make any necessary adjustments or corrections to achieve the desired quality.
• Produce prototypes and high-quality bespoke garments based on the designer's specifications.
• Work efficiently to meet tight deadlines and production schedules.
• Prioritise tasks and manage time effectively to ensure timely delivery of samples.
