McKenna Marsden is looking for a passionate, creative Fashion Design Intern to the studio in Hoxton, London, assisting in developing the next collection.

This is a hands-on opportunity to work directly alongside the designer throughout the design and making process, gaining experience within an independent fashion studio and seeing a collection develop from concept through to finished garments.

Overall, the successful applicant will have the opportunity to work closely with an independent designer, contribute directly to the development of a new collection and gain practical experience across design, pattern cutting, draping and garment construction.

What the Fashion Design Intern will be doing:

• Sewing and garment construction
• Pattern cutting and development
• Draping on the stand
• Toile making and fitting
• Assisting with garment alterations and finishing
• Developing experimental shapes, textures and techniques
• Helping with the creation of a new fashion collection
• General studio support and preparation

What the McKenna Marsden is looking for:

• A fashion student, graduate or emerging designer
• Someone passionate about fashion and garment construction
• Confident with a sewing machine and basic garment construction
• Experience with pattern cutting and/or draping
• Creative, experimental and willing to learn
• Good attention to detail
• Reliable, organised and able to work independently
