The Pantry Underwear is looking for a Senior Sales & Business Development Associate to forge and maintain key relationships that drive increased footfall, online traffic, brand awareness and revenue for the business. Including but not limited to VIP & specialist customers and external referral partners. 

As a progressive retail business, this role within our ambitious team would suit someone who wants an active daily routine ( not a desk job ), as well as varied responsibilities & opportunities. We’re looking for a people person who’s able to join us as soon as possible based in our Islington Square store with the likelihood of travel to sites elsewhere occasionally which will be funded by the company.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Sales:

  • Customer service – offer product advice and bra fitting to customers of The Pantry Underwear and Bridalwear. Bra fitting senior in specialist sectors including bridal, maternity, and post-surgery. Supervise training programme and observe team performance to ensure brand standards are consistently met. The Senior Associate will support the managers in overseeing the sales teams at all locations and will therefore hold some responsibility for recruitment, professional development, and systems improvements.
  • Virtual bra fitting – virtual fittings and training of sales colleagues to offer service with coaching, observation and organised feedback, including back to senior management. New technology to be deployed in 2025 to enhance this service element under the brand the Senior Associate will support the roll out of this project working closely alongside the senior management team.
  • Customer relationship management – take ownership to encourage repeat business including VIP status, loyalty engagement and advocacy, up sell incentives as well as sales development pathways e.g. from pregnancy to through to post-nursing / maternity ( includes digital communications training, using Klaviyo ).
  • Visual merchandising – ensure that products are always displayed to their best advantage in stores ( & with input to online also ) and that displays are re-stocked regularly, as well as aesthetically maintained e.g. pricing, sizing, back up stock.
  • Product range development – provide customer feedback to management and support the stocked brand relationships alongside MD / Buyer.
  • Inventory management – administration of EPOS and website back office as appropriate. Maintain good awareness of stock outages and size availability across styles, as well as movement of stock between sites.
  • Site Maintenance - ensure that the workplace is kept clean and tidy, with regular responsibilities via the cleaning rota.

Business Development

  • Referral relationships – maintain strong relations with referral partners e.g. bridal boutiques to be exclusive provider for specialist underwear ( & services ) for their clients with cyclical / regular contact, accurate recordkeeping and a honed approach to top tier relations. Establish new relationships in both existing and less explored sectors such as maternity and post-surgery.
  • Events – represent the brand / company at in-person events both on site and off site, as well as online events. Including bridal underwear showcases at partner bridal boutiques, partner training for staff of partner boutiques, fitting on shoots with partner boutiques, and similar.
  • Operational – maintaining databases with correspondence, organising and answering catch up calls, answering case queries and circulating relevant updates and assets to partners. Main point of contact internally for specialist services driven by referral.

PR & Partner Marketing:

  • Little black book – coordination of our CRM of influencer & press contacts to forge ongoing relationships and produce collaborative creative concepts to expand the reach of The Pantry Underwear brand.
  • Record-keeping – record all activity produced through partners, and maintain high resolution content bank of assets for future use.
  • Analysis and research – report back to management and marketing on activity and analyse the reach of said activity and impact of this on sales / revenue.
  • Collaboration – with various related in house teams, including The Pantry Bridalwear to utilise partnerships databases to expand reach of all limited company brands.

Supervisory & Training:

  • Sales training - although we champion peer-to-peer learning, the Senior Associate will be ultimately responsible for ensuring new members of the Sales teams across locations are trained on all aspects of the brand and organisation, with a particular focus on successful execution of the honed company sales techniques to deliver continued retail sales growth.
  • Sales outside of immediate team - new members of the Head Office teams across locations on company sales techniques / approach.
  • Supporting documents - maintenance of training documents ( e.g. workbooks & manuals), ensuring information is kept up-to-date and improvements continuously made.
  • Reporting - to senior management on progress of training for all individuals, including regular updates through initial start period, preparation for probationary review meetings and bi-annual appraisals.
  • Recordkeeping - oversee the organisation and upkeep of Sales specific records / assets e.g. Fittings Database, Virtual Fittings and Follow Up email drafts ( across brands ).
  • Communications – ultimate responsibility for internal sales communications incl. Sales Memo ( weekly ), Retail meeting ( weekly with Managing director or General Manager ) ensuring senior management aware of any issues including but not limited to, individual performance, maintenance of stores, stock outages / feedback etc

We're looking for someone who:

  • Is Positive, well-mannered, and motivated to help people and transform the often negative associations of the bra-wearing community with finding a bra.
  • Has the Ability to organise and prioritise their workflow, ensuring the customer is at the forefront but that operational standards are maintained.
  • Thrives in a detail-orientated, customer-centric environment
  • Possesses the Ability to complete tasks/projects, often multiple, at any one time.
  • Is Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Experience with Excel, Shopify, EPOS systems and Adobe software would be helpful, as would experience in bra fitting and/or the bridal sector. Although none are essential, training will be provided.

  • This is a permanent position as we do not hire temporary staff outside of freelancers.
  • During the C-19 pandemic we maintained our full team and upskilled / repurposed individuals in response to this challenging period. Our main objective from a recruitment perspective is to forge careers for those who choose to join us.
  • Employees are entitled to company pension and paid holiday.
  • The hours are 40 hours per week, across 5 days and this will include some weekend days.
  • Salary is dependent on experience in relation to this specific role.
